Ozzy Osbourne Preforming at BlizzCon 2009?

Heading to BlizzCon this year in Anaheim, CA, it looks like the “The Prince of Darkness” will be preforming at this year’s show. According to DirecTV, Ozzy Osbourne is going to make a “special appearance” at the annual convention, dedicated to Blizzard products. We highly doubt this appearance means Ozzy will have his own panel because he’s not known for his speaking skills.

For the past month, rumors have surfaced that Ozzy Osbourne would be preforming at BlizzCon 09 because guitarist Zack Wylde, wrote on his twitter that he would be “doing Blizzcon with him [Ozzy] in August.”

Need another reason for Ozzy to play at Blizzcon? Last year if you remember, World of Warcraft commercials were airing with none other than Ozzy himself. While they didn’t make much sense, they were definitely entertaining.

Sam Raimi to Direct Warcraft Movie

samraimi

Blizzard and Legendary Pictures have confirmed that the Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi, has signed on to direct a film based off the popular Warcraft videogame series. Raimi, who also created the Evil Dead franchise, is expected by both companies to use his talent of developing a already fictitious universe and bringing it to life in a believable way onto film.

At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story,” said the legendary director Raimi. “I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”
The production team behind the soon to be big budget film is none other than Charles Roven’s talents. His team was last seen with the ultra-popular and great all-around movie ‘The Dark Knight,’ which was directed by Christopher Nolan.

According to reports, Raimi will first direct and finish the forth installment of ‘Spider-Man,’ which should start filming early next year. From there, Raimi is expected to start and work on the Warcraft film.

This is overall great news for videogame fans like myself, who hope to see good adaptations of their beloved games onto the silver-screen. Let’s be honest with each other, there has yet to be a truly good videogame-movie (Mortal Kombat does not count as a good movie). However, there seems to be a growing trend lately of movie studios finally taking a videogame and trying to make it into a decent film. My prediction is the Prince of Persia movie is going to be the first real good one, but Raimi signing on to direct Warcraft is the first ‘big name’ director to head a videogame film.

World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew Commercial

Blizzard and Pepsi have teamed up to promote Mountain Dew, by using the World of Warcraft game. Up top is the first commercial to air on television and it is highly unrealistic. Seriously, how many girls who look like that, drink Mtn. Dew and/or play World of Warcraft? I’ll give you the answer; zero. Both products are known to make people fat.

And oh, I guess humans don’t really turn into a WoW avatar, so that might not be practical too. Although, I think the chances of turning into a Orc at your local grocery store is higher than seeing to hot women buying Mtn. Dew and play WoW.

If you want to see a real gamer who plays WoW and drinks the soda, check out a video we embedded after the jump. (more…)

Sackboy Makes World of Warcraft Look Cute

Proof: World of Warcraft would be 100 percent more adorable if it included Sackboy. Or would this be called a level 80 Blood SACKelf Warlock? You know what? I honestly don’t care…

Anyway, it’s damn cute, right?

The credit goes to maggie wang and her co-worker. Now, if only I could make something as cool as this, then my life would be complete.

‘Lost’ Easter Egg Found in World of Worldcraft

I’m not a World of Worldcraft fan. I know Ellie Kam over a /gossip is pretty obsessed with it, but I’ve learned that my addiction to video games is bad enough. I certainly don’t need to preoccupy most of my time to just one of them.

That said, I am a crazy for the TV show ‘Lost‘ on ABC and found this picture related to both. So I decided I would share it with all of you. The pic is an easter egg from WoW and looks like the DHARMA Initiative shaft from the show has been found in the game — with the numbers ‘5,9,16,17,24,43‘ on top of it.

Now what does that mean for the game? Probably nothing, however if I learned anything from the show, it’s best to stay the f*ck away from it!
