Russian animation studio tvigle, came up with a concept of having two famous videogame stars, Pac-Man & Mario, pitted against each other in an epic battle to the death. But I think it was more about Mario going through his ordinary routine, but suddenly Pac-Man has to be a dick once again, and ruin somebody’s fun.
The direction of the action was crafted beautifully, while the animation was drawn to perfection, and the sound is guaranteed to make you at least chuckle. It’s definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

I love videogame fashion that doesn’t overdo the geekeyness, while I sport it. Not that I have anything wrong with geek-wear, in fact I have quite a few gaming shirts and other attire that I dress up in. But sometimes I don’t want to blind people with my dorkyness and I find as I get older — I want things a little more subtle.
This watch is a perfect example. As you can tell, this limited edition ticker has a class look to it, but if one were to inspect closer, they would know it was from the great retro classic, Pac-Man. Not only is the yellow looking pizza guy on the watch, but displays his arch-nemesis the ghosts, Inky, Pinky and Clyde — trapped inside the ‘nest.’
What is really cool is as every second goes by, so does Pac-Man around the watch — eating pellets, a ghosts and whatever is in his way of destruction.
Although, Looking like a classy videogamer doesn’t come cheap. You can order one for $130 on clubnamco, but if you really want one, you should hurry. According to the site, it should be a collector’s item because only 500 of these beauties were made.
If you had a crapload of tuna cans lying around… what would you do? Probably throw them out, right? Well, someone decided to make Pac-Man art out of them, and displayed their work at Canstruction — a convention dedicated to stacking food and drink metal cans. I can’t figure out what’s weirder; the fact that someone had the time to create this replica of Pac-Man using thousands of tuna cans, or an annual event where people stack food containers. (more…)
I love the fact that some smart geeks have no social life. A couple of guys decided to build a real life Pac-Man, but used the vacuum that controls on its own, the Roomba. The talented team hacked five Rommbas, four are ghosts that are chasing one Pac-Man. The unmanned demo is connected to a laptop where the viewer can wtach a virtual representation of what’s going on, on the floor.
Each Roomba ghosts are using an internal odometry, which has a positioning system and they can find they’re way around the maze and chase Pac-Man at the same time, without ever bumping into each other. Just like in the game, when Pac-Man has the ability to attack the ghosts, all four will glide away from him. If Pac-Man ends up touching one of them, they will be forced to go back to the middle, before they resume to chase the yellow vacuum cleaner.
Check out the video up top, and read their description after the jump.

Here’s a cool picture found I today. Pixel Fantasy on Flickr said he wants to see the new TRON film quite a bit, which is scheduled to be released next year. He was so inspired by his excitement, he decided to merge the easily recognizable movie from the 80s with the recognizable 80’s videogame Pac-Man.
Here is a great idea, could someone please make this into a black T-Shirt and sell it?
If you like the image so much, you want it as a wall paper — simply click on it and save.
Oh god Pac-Man, what the hell happened to you? You went to from a lovable yellow face to a striper loving, money throwing, gun slaying dick.
Ok, the video isn’t really that but parodying the new video, which was first shown on ESPN, of Adam “Pacman” Jones inside the strip club from he infamous shooting in which he made it rain.
The man who created Lemmings and the first Grand Theft Auto, has been told by more than one person that GTA was a lot like Pac-Man. As far out as that sounds, he somewhat tries to makes sense out of it.
“People said to me that GTA was just like Pac-Man — he eats the dots, while you drive over the dots in GTA. The police chase you like the ghosts in Pac-Man.”
I can kinda see what he’s talking about, especially if you only count the original Grand Theft Auto and the second one. Those games didn’t have the glorious 3D graphics the series has been known for now, but a 2D overhead point of view. Although I’m pretty sure being that vague, you could easily find quite a few games that are ’similar.
I’ve been thinking about what kind of car I would get if I were to get buy one sometime soon. I’m not going to lie, I’m not huge about any particular vehicle, I really just want something that goes from point ‘A’ to ‘B.’ Although, these pictures that I’m posting might have just changed my mind.
TheCoolHunter released images of these MINI Coopers, which have a Space Invaders and Pac-Man theme design and as of now, the cars are sadly not available. According to the site, this is all part of a project and to be honest, I don’t think these pictures are even real and they are probably just concept art. But it sounds there is a small possibility that someone is working on these designs as we speak, and maybe could happen one day. If so, sign me up!
We should also note, that these pictures are being mistakenly credited towards artist Matt Moore. However, Gamedaily has confirmed that Moore is denying such an involvement and as of now, we don’t know who actually made them.
Web-comic Scott Hampson had conceived the picture up top. If you have a twitter account, than you know having people following you isn’t always a good. Poor, poor Pac-Man.
Oh man, this is great. Christian Bale (Batman) apparently first appeared as an actor in a Pac-Man cereal commercial. That same advertisement is the video we embedded top and proves that Bale was a dancing fool, when he was 8 year’s old.
I’m sure this is a video that is about to make the rounds on the Internet extremely soon, so enjoy it before everyone else does.
Caution: If you show this to a girl, be prepared to hear them say something like; “oooo he was so adorable,” in their annoying ‘girly‘ voice. It’s code for, I like Christian Bale more than you.
A couple of crazy Russian kids ran around Moscow, but one was dressed up as Pac-Man and the other like his one of rivals. They rampaged a Moscow College classroom, took it to the streets and rode what looked like a subway train.
In Mother Russia, Pac-Man wears you.
After the jump, check out some more pictures of their adventures. Hopefully they were not executed for their trouble making.
Before Mortal Kombat hit the mainstream, popular video games on the consoles were, for the most part, tame. Sure, there was a few titles that depicted blood and violence, but a lot of them were just made to just glorify the brutality of life, and didn’t really focus on gameplay. Today, gaming sings to a different tune. The industry recognized that not only do adults play games, but you can make them violent and include deep gameplay.
TastyPaints on flickr was heavily inspired by Mortal Kombat and how it changed the landscape of the video game world. He decided to create some artwork with some of our favorite innocent video game stars from our childhood, but added some realistic and gruesome violence, to the mix.
The pictures borrow elements from certain retro games, but add an adult theme to the mix. Take the Kirby picture above, for example. We all know he is a lovable fat pink monster. However when he sucks up his enemies, you really didn’t think it was a bloody mess, did you? Nintendo just censors his antics, to make him seem harmless.
After the jump, check out some more work done by the brilliant TastyPaints. (more…)
Comedian Lilly Tomlin, recorded this PSA announcement back in the 80s, about her Pac-Man addiction. She ‘talked’ about the many problems and struggles she faced, while Pac-Man controlled her life. For instance, in once of her dark moments, Tomlin passed out in a arcade because she felt that she needed to play the classic video game.
While watching this, I could only imagine how much strength this poor woman needed to get through this horrible time in her life, and I pray none of you will go through something similar. If you are, please, please get help.
The next time I show the world that I burnt my cookies, I want to use these oven mitts. The Pac-Man mitts are made from silicone and sell for $14.95. And are promised to “keep your hand safe from burns and your heart full of nostalgic pride from your days on the high score table.”
Combine that with the Space Invaders ice trays, the next time you have a party, you’ll be considered the geekest person on earth. Which depending on your personalty, that label could be a good or bad thing.

Not to long ago, Rémi Gaillard made a video that we featured, which showed him reenacting Mario Kart on the streets of France. Obviously it wasn’t safe, but it produced laughter and entertainment for a lot of people.
Galillard is up to his crazy antics once again, however, in this video he was inspired by Pac-Man. He dressed up as the yellow video game star, while his buddies were the ghosts. All of them ran amuck through a grocery store, pool hall and golf course — annoying all who got in their way. Some people were not so amused by their clowning around and it resulted in violence to demonstrate their frustration.
Meaning, people got hurt while making this video. So, you should enjoy it that much more.
