Do you have $30 million laying around? If you do, you could purchase Midway Games right now! According to reports from Variety, the former gaming giant and the courts have agreed that $30 million is a safe price to sell the company. The plan is to deal away Midway for at least that specific price. If they do, 28 employees will earn a bonus, if and only the target is agreed and will spilt $600,000 individually. If the deal is actually completed, than additional $1 million dollar pool will be handed out. However, the goal for the Midway staff members, would be to sell for the publisher for even more cash, and if that happens — you guessed it, the 28 workers would receive more dough.
This agreement took place about ten days ago, between the courts and Midway, and it is called the “key employee incentive plan.” Which means, our company failed, but we can still earn crap loads of cash!
The company is also preparing to sell some of their more popular assets, including the famous Mortal Kombat franchise. Although, I think the company would be worth more if they sold it with the fighting game.
Who do you think will buy the failed company? For some reason, I do see Activision interested in the Mortal Kombat franchise, at the very least. The series has established itself as a successful name, which is Activision’s purpose in this life. Only release titles that have a ‘long term future.’

Midway Games is reportedly looking for buyers to purchase their beloved Mortal Kombat franchise, just so the company can stay-afloat according to court documents. The official court record states that Midway is seeking an “execution of an asset purchase agreement for the sale of Midway’s Mortal Kombat franchise assets.”
This does not 100% guarantee that the publisher is going to sell their biggest franchise to some company, but if they don’t — we might not see Midway around for much longer. It might… be their only option. Sadly.
While speaking with Edge, the head investor of relations Geo Mogliner, told Edge the company’s plans for selling the series, “We’re not going out of our way to sell Mortal Kombat,” he said.
It sounds like Mr. Mogliner is trying to comfort employees and fans of the series, but he also implied that they are NOT against the idea of selling the fighter to another publisher. However, it sounds like they are not willing to give up resources to pursue other companies and convince them to buy their legendary franchise. But if an offer came out, it sounds like they would consider it.
It has also been revealed a little while back, that Ed Boon is already devopinging another Mortal Kombat as we type.

One of the unsung heros of the Mortal Kombat franchise is the voice of god. Well, that’s what I always thought of him. Hernan Sanchez is the man with the legendary voice of the series who said such phrases as “Finish Him” and “Flawless Victory.” Thanks to Midway and Maxim, we now have a soundboard that features Sanchez’s famous voice but saying things you probably thought you would never hear from him.
Up top is the soundboard, enjoy it for what it is.

The Pitch: The guy who is the voiceover who says “Finish Him” in Mortal Kombat, wants Sub-Zero to do a little more than just kill him. And it gets a little awkward for the fighter. A little strange, but funny nonetheless.
