/Gamer reader Rocky was cruising around Xbox Marketplace and checking out some of the Xbox 360 themes. He came across a Guitar Hero: World Tour theme that is presented by KFC. While reading the description, Rocky noticed a couple of words that were misspelled and he snapped a photo for us.

As you can see above, the last sentence had two typos. Not only did Microsoft screw up on the word Guitar by spelling it “Gutiar,” they also messed up on World by calling it “Wold.”

We’re guessing that Microsoft demoted the guy who was responsible for the “Red Ring of Death,” and gave him the “typing of the theme” job title.

Guitar Hero: World Tour owners, get ready because the boss is coming as a FREE download. That’s right, Bruce Springsteen is going to be included for GH as DLC. It will be made available around the same time as his new album “Working on a Dream,” which will be in stores on January 27, 2009.

The DLC will feature two songs, “Born to Run” from the same record name and “My Lucky Day,” which is on his next album. The songs will be on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii.

Remember the awesome video named ‘Bike Hero‘ we posted a few days ago? Well, it’s not nearly as cool as we thought because it was created by an production teamed named Droga 5. The team works with Activision and they plan working with them in the future doing similar things.

In a weird kind of way, I feel Activision has completely lied to us and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to forgive the publisher…Okay, I think maybe I’m going overboard because it was just viral marketing and guess what? It worked. Almost a million people have watched the video and it got the internet thinking about Guitar Hero. We were fooled this time by Activision, but hopefully when they do their next lie, we won’t be. However, we probably will.

Activision has just released the new theme song for James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace for Guitar Hero: World Tour. The new Bond theme is called “Another Way to Die,” and features the artistes Jack White (White Strips) and Alicia Keys. It has a jazz/R&B/alternative sound. Basically, I think it kinda kicks ass and by far the most unique 007 theme. Listen to it up top.

The song sells for $1.99 (160 MS Points).

Remember back in the day when we all thought EA was the evil empire in gaming? Recently, I’ve seen the company changing its strategy and the last few months, I’ve been excited about some of their new projects. Because of that, we thought all is good in the gaming world. Sadly, that is not true because Activision Blizzard is starting to become the new ‘immoral’ company.

Bobby Kotick, who is the CEO of Activision Blizzard, recently spoke about one of Guitar Hero’s features — the user created songs and how they could make money off of them through ‘GH Tunes.’

“The ability to offer these songs on a subscription basis may very well result in the newest subscription opportunity in our portfolio.”

Yes ladies and gentlemen, you have read that correctly. Kotick and Activision seems like they are possibly looking into ways for us, the consumer; to purchase songs that fellow gamers created. I’m sorry but this is crap. Its crap because us gamers are creating these songs for free. The only reason for any company to charge gamers for DLC isn’t just because they want to JUST make money, but because companies pay to develop the content. And with music games — companies need to also pay record companies to license off the music they use.

With the ability to upload songs, Activision Blizzard is taking advantage of us. They decided to take our hard-work and profit from it. And of course, the ‘artist’ who makes the music gets NOTHING. Of course since they own the feature — they can do whatever they want. But again, I feel in the end — they’re raping the gamers.

On top of that, the feature to create music and upload them was supposed to be free for anyone who wanted to try it through a download. But because the company saw 25,000 user generated songs already uploaded and they expect to see over 100,000 by the end of the year — they want to now charge. If they decide to go through with this new proposal, I urge everyone not to even bother with it. As the crazy Bill O’Riley says, “Speak with your wallet,” and don’t buy any of that content!

On top of that, the user content doesn’t even sound that great and was considered by many reviewers; a disappointment.

Oh, and a tip to Activision Blizzard — Rock Band is better.

Here’s another commercial featuring Guitar Hero: World Tour directed by Brett Ratner. But instead of seeing Kobe half naked, we get to see actress/model Heidi Klum in her bra and panties. After talking to Peter over at /film, Activision and Ratner filmed a series of advertisement for the game similar to this one. So, expect to see even more, which is AWESOME…of course I’m being sarcastic.

Unless of course Ratner convinced Hayden Panettiere to wear something close to what Klum is showing off above, then for a limited time only — he’ll become my favorite director of all-time!

Remember the Guitar Hero commercial featuring some of America’s favorite athletes (besides A-Rod) that we posted a few days ago? Well you’re not going to believe who directed it. Thanks to /film who found out, Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) was the mastermind behind the commercial. Of course when I use the term mastermind I use it loosely…very loosely.

Seriously, how could a director as big as Ratner create utter rubbish? The production looked like some kid on youtube produced it. Oh wait, I know why it sucked so much — Ratner made it, duh! If this is any indication of how he wants to create the Guitar Hero movie he’s been pitching around to the media — then god help us.

Just remember kids, he is officially signed on to direct the God of War movie. You know — more and more I think about it, Uwe Boll doesn’t sound so bad anymore. Of course I’m only HALF kidding.

As we already know, Guitar Hero: World Tour is about to get one of the greatest guitarist of all time — Jimi Hendrix but Activision is also adding Jack White’s (White Strips) band The Raconteurs as a DLC starting on November 13 and 20th respectively. Even though the overall reviews for Guitar Hero are not measuring up to Rock Band 2 — just having Jimi Hendrix alone could be worth my investment for the $180 GH package. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of a exaggeration, but playing some of his classic songs is still pretty awesome.

Jimi Hendrix DLC will include a live version of “Fire,” and studio tacks of “Little Wing” and “If 6 was 9.” The package will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $5.49 (440 MS Points). Apparently, while Hendrix was on his death bed, he requested not to be on the Wii because he felt it was to “kiddy.” Sorry Nintendo fanboys, it was his decision so, blame him — not me.

The Raconteurs’ songs will only be sold separately for $1.99 (160 MS Points). However, the Wii will get love from Jack White because if you spend 200 Wii Points, you’ll be able to at least play some Raconteurs.

Activision has started to air a their commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Their approach was rather interesting because they used athletes to be the stars of the advertisement. Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, Alex Rodriguez and Tony Hawk do their best impersonation of Tom Cruise in ‘Risky Business.’ Although, I find the ad amusing — Activision must have paid a pretty penny to get these guys in the studio.

No word yet if the pressure got to A-Rod and he failed out of the song…but we’re assuming he did.

For those who wanted to be a rock star but never achieved their dream, but pretend every night when they play Guitar Hero – this could be for them. Logitech has created a wireless guitar officially for Guitar Hero: World Tour.

The reason why we’re posting about this accessory is because it’s unique. The guitar features a wooden neck, metal fret buttons, rosewood fingerboard and even tuning peg handles (why? We have no clue). Basically it feels like a real guitar. You can have all this for only $250…

Logitech promises the controller will last for “hundreds of hours” on just two AA batteries. But as of now, it only works for both the PS3 and PS2 version of the game and no word yet on a Xbox compatible guitar. Logitech expects the guitar to be in stores sometime in December.
