Braveheart Scene Remade Using Boom Blox

Braveheart was a historical-drama film that was released in 1995. The film was recognized as the year’s best film when it won best picture at the 68th Academy Awards, and was nominated for additional six. The moral of the story is about how important freedom is, and what the cost some must endure in order to make sure they experience it.

That said, gamegym deiced to use the level editor from Boom Blox to recreate a famous scene from the film. What you get is a entertaining look from a different perspective from the great movie. I dunno, there is something about seeing Mel Gibson being played by a blocky dog-thing.

Watch the video up top.

Gameplay Footage for Boom Blox: Party Bash

Gametrailers has put up a video of Boom Blox: Party Bash, which they record off a TV as they were playing the puzzle game. Obviously, the second installment is nearly identical to the first game which came out last year and for me, was the best game on the Wii for 2008.

To say I’m excited for the next Boom Blox would be an understatement and if you haven’t played it yet, I recommend checking it out. Until than, watch the footage of gameplay up top.

EA Gives us Holiday Cheats for Boom Blox

This is a first, EA is being a giving company during the holidays. Well, they are kinda are. The publisher is giving away cheats to only Boom Blox owners. Enter these names using the virtual keyboard:

Pandoras Blox: Unlocks all levels in the game
Tool Pool: Unlocks all the toys in Create Mode
Nonstop Props: Unlocks all the props in Create Mode
Critter Litter: Unlocks all the characters in Create Mode

Remember back in the day when codes were the hot things. Hell, they had TV shows, and magazines, along with books that were dedicated to just unlocking features. Man, have the times changed or what?

Also, if you possess a Wii, but you don’t own Boom Blox — why!? The game is really one of the best games for the system.

Video Proof: Level Editor in Boom Blox is Deep

You know what, I actually forgot about the level creator in EA’s Boom Blox. Not because I didn’t play the game, in fact I destroyed it with my girlfriend in a few nights. But I’m not going to lie, I never played around with the editor. But because I just watched the video up top, I’m going to bust out the game and fiddle around with it.

It’s a bit deeper than I originally thought. Jjgames over at youtube recreated classic games like Mario, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man — all while using the Boom Blox editor. Proving that LittleBigPlanet isn’t the only bad boy who can copy a good classic game.

Check out the video and if you have yet to purchase the game; head over to Gamestop and buy now. It’s that fun!

Boom Blox Expected to be on Other Platforms

Boom Blox is easily one of the best games to come out for the Nintendo Wii this year. The Puzzle game presented some of the best controls and physics on the system to date. So much that John Riccitiello president of Electronic Arts said the following:

“We haven’t made announcements on that front. Frankly, its original design was all about the control of the (Wii])wand. But there are other ways to implement that. It is a hugely innovative product. I expect you’ll see it on other platforms in time.”

So it looks like one of the more innovative games for the Wii, will be making a appearance on the Xbox 360 and/or PS3. One of the reasons why the game worked so well with the Wii – were because the controls were a perfect fit with the Wiimote. Using a “regular” controller would probably would make the game average at best. Could EA maybe take advantage of the Xbox Camera? Or use the Sixaxis motion feature right? Doubtful, but in time we’ll know.

Either way, just like how some games wouldn’t work on the Wii (Dead Rising), other games could be just dreadful on the more powerful consoles.

Boom Blox for the Wii is Selling Great: Take That Fanboys

I thought I was one of the few people who purchased Boom Blox for the Nintendo Wii, until now. Just a few weeks ago, Steven Spielberg’s game was getting slammed by analysts because it only sold a mere 60,000 units. Apparently those numbers were first week sales, and the game since launch has sold roughly 450,000 copies. This is great news for Wii fans, because it somewhat changes the stereotype that third-party games don’t sell well on Nintendo’s console. Everyone’s new favorite CEO Riccitiello said,Boom Blox from EA Casual continues to sell well,” and adding, “…is judged by many to be one of the best Wii titles this year.”

So now, if you’re one of the “few” people who own a Wii, but not Boom Blox, make sure you go out now and buy it. Because the game is really incredible.
