One of the thing you will notice right away is that ‘Fidy’, as us hip kids call him, is in a deset environment and the bad guys that he is shooting at are mostlikley Arabs or Taliban. Presumably they are terrorist and ‘Fidy’ is there to stop terrorism or something like that, we’re not sure. Anyways he’s there with his crew and their Uzi’s shooting up all the haterz. An even though he is “Bullitproof” (get it because that was like the name of one of his albums because he has been shot like a hundred times) he needs to run to cover. Guess how he runs to the blockades? He uses the “Roadie Run” from that popular shooter game from Epic War Machine or was it Gear Grinder? Oh, I remember now Gears of War. Anyways I don’t want to get shot so i’m just going to say this looks off the chain, it’s dope. Fo Rizzle my Nizzle’s.
What we consider to be the very best gaming magazine; is officially no more. The 20-year-old Electronic Gaming Monthly has printed its last issue. If you own the January 2009 EGM, you might want to keep it as a collectors item because you will never see it again on newsstands. The word comes from Ziff Davis who owned the publication. Ziff Davis also announced the sale of the 1UP Digital Network to UGO, which includes 1UP.com, MyCheats.com, GameVideos.com and Gametap.com.
The fate of the sites are still remain unclear, however major layoffs have already begun. More than 30 employees have been terminated, including many of the people who ran GameVideos.com. Ryan O’Donnell, who created the 1UP Show podcast, as well as the producer Matt Chandronait announced on their twitter feeds that the show will no longer continue.
UGO CEO Moses, confirmed that 1Up will still remain in the San Francisco bay area as well maintain under the 1UP brand name.
Okay, I take back everything I’ve ever said about Wii Fit being for mostly women because this video is as Manly as it gets. The group Wicked Celtics have put together a music video and song featuring what apparently is manliest game of all time, which is Nintendo’s exercise game.
I do WANT to be hardcore and I will get on board! Watch the video above but be careful; your testosterone is going to boil!
On a side not: Am I the only one who finds the Shia LaBeouf reference hilarious? Don’t ask me why, I just do.
We here at /gamer just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope this year brings even better games than the last. And from what we’ve been hearing — it just might do that.
All of us here at /Gamer just want to extend our holiday wishes to everyone who visits the site. This past year has been a growing experience for all of us and our Christmas present has already come true — the support from you guys (yeah it’s corny).
We hope you received many games/system and remember, play them like there’s no tomorrow.
The guys over at Hardcode TV have hacked a Wiimote, Wii Balance Board and the iPhone to control a toy remote control truck. They are using the Bluetooth that is included in all 3 devices and communicates with the Mac, which in turn talks to the truck.
Looks like fun to us, and we wish we were smart enough to do something like this. Imagine using a remote control plane with a Wiimote — that would be awesome!
Somehow Markus Persson’s de-made Valve’s Left 4 Dead into a simple Java game. The game, which is cleverly titled ‘Left 4K Dead‘ was built to compete in the Java 4K Coding Competition. Although it’s nearly as fun as it’s big brother — it’s certainly additive nonetheless.
Persson did a fantastic job of setting the tone of the game. By giving it a grainy look, as well as having a flashlight; any fan of the actual game should enjoy this. The game controls a lot like Smash TV, but with a flashlight.
A new Sims 3 trailer is out and it’s showing off some of the customization features included with the game. Graphically the game is a definite upgrade and it’s nice to see the game stick with a 3D world.
However, have the gamers moved on from the Sims and how much different can it truly be? When the first installment came out almost nine years ago, it tapped into a demographic that no other game has ever done before; the casual gamer as well as girls. Have those girls/casual gamers played enough of The Sims and moved on to greater and better games? Only time will tell.

The holidays are a time of giving and that is why the MLG (Major League Gaming has decided to give back. Today only, when you purchase a MLG picture pack, theme, or video on XBOX Live, 50% of the proceeds will go towards the Harlem RBI organization. All of the MLG content on XBOX Live ranges from $1-$2. In addition, MLG will also be donating 50% of all proceeds from their online store.
It’s nice to see companies in the Game industry giving back this year and you can bet that other companies will be doing something similar in the next week.
About Harlem RBI:
Harlem RBI provides inner-city youth with opportunities to play, learn, and grow. They use the power of teams to coach, teach, and inspire youth to recognize their potential and realize their dreams. You can learn more about Harlem RBI and their work in East Harlem, New York at http://www.harlemrbi.org Harlem RBI is affiliated with the National RBI Program initiated in 1989 with the sponsorship of Major League Baseball and is based on the Los Angeles RBI program model, founded by Major League Scout John Young. Today there are more than 200 RBI programs nationwide.
New York City is awesome, besides the weather and the occasional stuck up/rude person (and the Yankees!) — the city has everything at its disposal. From world class food to style, you could live there and never have to leave. It truly is the capital of the world.
For us gamers, they also have a store many of us would like in our hometown; the Nintendo World Store. Obviously from the name alone you could figure it out, it is a store where all they sell are Nintendo products. From systems to stuff Pikachus, it’s a Nintendo fanboy’s wet dream.
Exactly .8 miles away (yes point the world’s BEST Toys R’ Us is located conveniently in Times Square. For all around geeks who are still kids at heart — this place is also a HUGE wet dream. And an enormous tourist attraction.
Because of the success of the Wii and DS,Nintendo and the toy retail giant have combined forces to make a 1000 square foot department made out of entirely Nintendo products at the Toys “R” Us location. In essence, it’s like another Nintendo store — in the same city! I
I’m jealous and dammit, I think it’s unfair for the rest of the country not to at least have something dedicated to Nintendo somewhere else in the USA. Couldn’t they have at least put something like that on the west coast!? Okay, I’m acting like a baby and I’ll just go to my PlayStationStore here in San Francisco. Suck on that one NYC and enjoy your snow storm tomorrow!

Update: They are now sold out but will be available again on Saturday the 20th.
If you are still trying to find a Wii for the holidays head over to Amazon.com. Amazon is listing the Wii as In Stock and if you order it in the next half hour you could get it shipped to you as early as tomorrow (December 19th). Act quick as we don’t know how long this will last.
X-Play co-host Adam Sessler is officially a little more important. The gaming journalist has just been announced by the cable network G4 that he is the new Editor-in-Chief for the games content. Sessler will control the editorial portion of the channel and influence the coverage of the TV show ‘X-Play,’ which is also hosted by Morgan Webb.
Hopefully this will help the channel go back to the networks ‘glory days,’ when the network was called Tech-TV. When Tech-TV (originally called ZDTV) debuted 10 years ago, Sessler was a part of it and seeing him move up the ranks is certainly deserving. On top of that, we also find Adam Sessler to be the MOST knowledgeable journalist on G4 and we hope that will at least translate to better television.
Who is the best; Tyson or Ali? That is a question that many so called boxing expects have been debating for the last 20 years. Of course we’ll never know — Tyson has gone off his rocker and Ali has Parkinson’s disease, so the debate will rage on for decades.
But at least EA is putting both boxers in their next Fight Night game. Fight Night Round 4 will featuring both legendary boxers and obviously the publishing giant is going to promote them like crazy — which is evident in the trailer above.
Sadly, if you were expecting to see actual gameplay; be prepared to be disappointed. The clip looks to be 100% CG…or it could be the best looking game ever.
Remember the original code breaker for the NES? Yup, I’m talking about the Game Genie which could give us infinite lives or anything else at our disposal. This t-shirt over at splitreason is selling what we all wished the actual Game Genie should have been. It would have been so much easier if we could have just rubbed the console and have an actual genie come out of it. As weird as this would be, It would have been a heck of a lot simpler than entering a million letters/numbers just to get an extra life.
Like the shirt? You can order it know for only $19.95. Just head over to splitreason.com.

Sorry about the lack of posts as of late. Because of my personal issues and Thanksgiving, I didn’t have a chance to update the site. However, starting later on tonight that will change and I hope to write a bunch of new articles. Also, we should have a few more writers jumping on board and should be adding the new talent in the near future.
At the same time, I shouldn’t run into the problems that I’ve faced for the last few days. The worst should be over. Again, thanks for the support and patience.
