A few days, we posted a video that was said to be a “leaked” version of the official trailer for Dead Rising 2. Some sites speculated that it was nothing more than a fan made trailer and not the real deal. While others, including ourselves, thought it was indeed real. Today, Capcom has answered the question — and Dead Rising 2 is officially being released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
This will mark the first time Capcom decided to make a Dead Rising game multiplatform on day one. According to a press release by the publisher, Blue Castle Games (The BIGS), who were heavily rumored to developed the sequel, has been confirmed to do so. In the same document, Capcom promises to have “tens of thousands of zombies” rooming a Las Vegas type environment called, Fortune City.
The game’s story is set to take place several years after the first title, which ended with the zombie virus being destroyed. Apparently something happened, because the same virus is spreading throughout the United States and that’s where the game starts.
Even though the same team who developed the original game are not working on it, many members who did are working closely with Blue Castle Games, including producer Keiji Inafune.
No release date has been set, but if all goes well — we hope to see it by the end of the year.
After the jump, check out more screens. (more…)

Last week, we brought you a leaked trailer for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the Wii, PS2 and PSP. Obviously the trailer was nothing more than a pre-rendered video and absolutely no gameplay was included. The only things we got out of the teaser was it wasn’t cancelled and it was not coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360; like originally planned.

Today, LucasArts has unveiled info for the game for the first time and also released in-game screenshots of the action. In a press release, LucasArts announced the Wii version will take advantage of the Wiimote. By gesturing the controller in the air like a whip, the player will reenact Indy’s famous weapon.

Like the films, the game’s story will take place around the globe, all while Dr. Jones searches for the “Staff of Moses.” Indy is promised to fight on the cable cars of San Francisco to exploring the jungles of Panama. The premise already sounds better than the last movie.

One of the more surprising announcements from the press release is the ability to play the game with other people. Not only will it have a cooperative-mode, but will also include a versus battle. Up to four-players will engage in head to head action, the developers have even added vehicles like tanks and plans to duel it out! No word on online play, but we’re guessing no.

For us, the most exciting announcement today is being able to unlock the greatest Indiana Jones video game of all time. In 1992, LucasArts released the point-and-click adventure game, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for the PC. If anyone has ever played it, they would surely know it was easily the best Indiana Jones game created, and quite possibly more enjoyable than two of the films (Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull). So having the chance to reply it could be well worth the purchase alone.

After jump, check out the full press release straight LucasArts! (more…)

Recently, we receive an invite to try out JamLegend.
JamLegend is a new product in the works by Launchbox Digital. The basic idea of JamLegend is to bring interactive music gaming online for free! The basic ideas used by huge titles such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Rock Revolutions, but no console required… just an internet connection (and a keyboard that will become your 5-string guitar!). The title included three levels of difficulty. Easy, Medium and Hard. As in Rock Band and Guitar Hero, Easy mode is just frets 1 through 3, Medium 1 through 4 and naturally, hard uses all 5.

JamLegend has gone as far as allowing real-time showdowns with other users online, as well as turn-based duels. The music library is designed to become virtually unlimited as bands are encouraged to upload their music to promote themselves through this very ambitious and well polished project! There are currently 37 artists with anywhere from 1 to 11 tracks of their work available to play! These artists include: Alternative Rock band Kill The Alarm from New York City, Double Stamp out of Claremont, California and Blue Judy from Los Angeles, California, just to name a few. (more…)

We were lucky enough to attended an event for EA’s FPS/platformer Mirror’s Edge for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Not only did we get to mingle with the developers of the project, we had a chance to check out the time trial portion — which will be made available through a demo if you pre-order it next month.
If you haven’t read much into DICE’s next ambitious project, then let’s get you up to speed. The story follows a female lead named ‘Faith,’ and in the not so decent future her government has controlled its people from thinking on its own — by brainwashing them. Not in a literal sense, but putting fear in the population and telling them the government is their to protect them from outside evil. It’s obvious the story is heavily influenced by the book “1984,” and maybe even taken from current events from around the world. (more…)

A little earlier today, we reported information about the new Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS. Just a little while ago, the scans have now made its way online. The graphics of the game look well…gorgeous (for a DS game).

This scan is showing how you use the touch screen while driving.

Some driving and shooting, does that car have a “Bond” type modification?

Looks like the game will feature searching areas of the city.

Update: Thanks to GoNintendo for the info that Astro Ranch will also be available for the Nintendo DS.
Pocketgamer has unearthed a new game for the iPhone being developed by TAG Games, and their hoping it will be out early next year.
The company looks like they’re combining the best idea’s from both Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon and calling it Astro Ranch. You’ll play as a character named Sindy Starlight, a space explorer who crashes her ship on a alien planet. While exploring the new world, she becomes friends with some of the extra terrestrial’s and builds a ranch to live in.
The point of the game is to build your ranch up, as well as pan for gold. In order to find the gold, you’ll be shaking your iPhone just like an old 49er in San Francisco. The touch screen elements will be pretty basic for now, you’ll only be able to control the camera.
The most exciting part of the game, will have online capabilities. It’ll let the player trade items, send gifts, and send messages to your iPhone friends who also own the game. Much like what Animal Crossing on the DS did a few years back.
The game is shaping up to be one of the better games to come out for the phone, I just hope TAG Games figures out how to utilize the touchscreen feature better.
Thanks to gizmodo for the finding the story and image

Today we were presented with a walkthrough and a hands on demo for, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Xbox 360 and PS3. As many of you know, this is arguably the most anticipated Star Wars game of all time. And for good reason.
We started the walkthrough at the beginning of the game. It started with an in-game cut scene. Darth Vader was on a mission to kill a Jedi on the Wookie’s home planet, Kashyyyk. As Vader’s ship landed, we saw Blaster lasers flying all over the world. Obviously, a full battle between the Wookies and imperial Army has started. Vader’s ship door opens, the the Imperial March song starts, and Darth Vader steps out. He then walks through the battlefield, and when I say walk, I mean just walking. What looks like a full fledge war going on, Vader is walking, knowing nothing can hurt him. Total badass. The developer was saying, when they decided on how Vader would move, they wanted him to walk like Michael Myers in the Halloween. It was intimidating, but he had complete confidence. (more…)
