Sega has finally revealed the heavily rumored Genesis pack that will feature 40 games that were previously released on the old system. The retro game collection will not only include the original games like Sonic, Ecco and Shinobi, but will display them in 720p for anyone that owns an HDTV. Which is fantastic, because anyone who has played an old game on a ‘newer’ TV would know they look like crap.
Sega also announced the game will feature Xbox Achievements and PS3 Trophies — so it’s a must for any hardcore old-skool Sega lovers like myself. However, at this point, a price has yet to confirmed by the company — we just hope it’s not over $40 because if it is, it might not be worth it. We’re actually thinking it should be no more than $30, but we’ll see soon enough.
After the jump, check out the full list of games included with the collection. (more…)

Look at Sony, they are trying to get their Qore service as popular as they can. For the last few months, they’ve been giving away beta invites for some of their biggest games of the year and the only way to get them is if you have a Qore subscription.
In November, if you have a yearly subscription to Qore or buy the service next month, Sony will invite you to the PlayStation ‘Home‘ beta, according to PS3fanboy. If you’re interested in Qore and/or the Home beta, it will set you back $2.99 for the month or $24.99 for the year.
I would like to see the numbers Sony has made of their new service, because I bet most people only purchase it for the demo’s and not the shows…and they obviously know this.

The Japanese investment research firm Morningstar, published a report confirming they are looking into ways of bringing Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360. IGN even uncovered a quote from a Konami representative regarding the new rumors for Sony’s ‘exclusive game’ coming to the Xbox 360:
“We’re actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360.”
Although this isn’t a 100% guarantee we’ll see Solid Snake on the 360, it is however the strongest evidence suggesting Konami is leaning towards the direction that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be a multiplatform game.
Even with all the evidence that is being presented, there is still one thing that has yet to be addressed, The creator of Metal Gear Hideo Kojima said several times with members of the press that it wasn’t at all possible to have Metal Gear 4 on the Xbox 360. His reasoning for Snake being only on a PS3 was because Microsoft’s system was without a Blu-ray player and therefore couldn’t run Metal Gear.
Our take is pretty simple, we think Konami is looking into it and MGS will find a new home with the Xbox 360 sometime in the future. And that Mr. Kojima is drinking way to much of the PS3’s Kool-Aid.

Sony announced today that the 80GB PlayStation 3 SKU that was released in the United States and Europe is going to be made available in Japan starting on October 30, 2008. The console will sell for 39,980 yen which translates to about $401 in America and will come bundle with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III. The announcement comes just days after it was confirmed that the Xbox 360 beat the PS3 in sales for the month of September.
Since it was released two year’s ago in Japan, the PS3 has lagged behind the Wii from the movement it came out. We think the PS3 hasn’t lived up to the expectations in terms of sales isn’t just because of software, but really the price point. The system is just to much and they should just lower the price of their previous model instead of giving the option of a larger hard-drive.
Hard-Drive space shouldn’t be the concern and hopefully someday soon Sony will realize this before it’s to late.

Some people are just insane about playing Gran Turismo 5 as realistic as they can. Super_fla on the gtplanet forums might have topped everyone. He won a kiosk for Grand Turismo 5 Prologue which is something that you might see at a convention such as E3. As soon as it was shipped to his house he worked on modifying it and switching out the old steering wheel and adding a new one. When it was all said and done it would’ve have cost him $15,000 for the kisok. If you thought you’re the biggest hardcore GT5 fanboy — keep dreaming. After the jump check out more of his pictures.
