This could be the best review in the history of video games. Okay, I’m not serious at all, but for some reason I couldn’t stop watching. Gettinggoodatthis on youtube decided to review Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Although, I didn’t like it because of its in depth review — in fact it’s the complete opposite.
I just wonder if this was supposed to be a real review or a fake…

It’s official, the Ghostbusters’ video game will be published in June 2009 by Atari. Right after Comic-Con 2008, it was reported the game was dropped by Activision because of their recent merger with Blizzard, even though the game was months away from being release.
By the time the game hits store shelves in June, the game will have been delayed 7 months from its original planned date. We’re hoping the delay is to make sure the game lives up to the name. However, when the game was shown off back in July — it received a decent amount of praise. Maybe with the game being pushed back; it’ll end up being even better…
Ghostbusters: The Video Game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2 and DS

During the last summer Olympics, Michael Phelps broke the world record for winning about a million gold medals. Because of his crazy speed in swimming, Phelps has become a national phenomenon not seen for along time.
During an interview with the show 60 Minutes, it was revealed that the gold medalists is having his own game being developed as we speak. However, the only info to come out is that it’s going to be obviously a swimming sports game. As of now we have no clue who is publishing the game. Although, considering Michael Phelps worked to promote Call of Duty: World at War and starred in the Guitar Hero commercial, one has to assume that it will be Activision.
When more information breaks, we’ll let you know.

Ben Heck is one hell of a modder. This time around, he took both the Xbox 360 controller and the Dual Shock 3 and combined them to make a super controller. I personally like both controllers and the way I choose which controller I find best depends on what game I’m playing.
For instance, for a first person shooter, I find where the analogs are better placed on the Xbox 360 controller. However for a fighting game, the D-pad and feel of the 360 controller is just awful. That is when I choose the Dual Shock.
But, Ben Heck modded a 360 controller and kept the good things about it and replaced the negatives like the d-pad and used the PS3’s instead.

He didn’t specify which system it works for or if it can run both systems. However, we would love this for the Xbox 360. Let’s face it, overall the PS3 Dual Shock is better and manly because of the d-pad. The controller will work well for any game that comes out for the system.
If you don’t believe me; try playing Mega Man 9 on the 360.
After the jump check out more pictures of his work. (more…)

Most likely when the year ends, Grand Theft Auto IV will probably win the most ‘Game of the Year‘ awards. Almost every gaming journalist I’ve spoken to all seem to agree Rockstar’s masterpiece will win the prestige honor.
Amazon is offering a terrific deal for the sandbox game. The site is selling GTA IV for only $37.99 for the Xbox 360 and $39.99 for the PlayStation 3. Considering the game is generally retailed at $60, this is a great time to buy the game. So, if you have yet to purchase the Grand Theft Auto IV — you have no excuse now.

If anyone ever worked in retail during Christmas, they would know the day after Thanksgiving is hands down the worst day of the year. Not only do they have to work slave hours, they also have to deal with the bitchiest customers ever. The video up top proves why anyone who constantly shops on that day just to save a buck or two is dumb.
The clip was recording customers in a giant ball attacking each other to buy an Xbox 360 bundle at Wal-Mart. I hope every single one of them get a ‘Red Ring of Death.’ Actually come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I don’t even have to “hope.”

Just to give you guys a heads up in case you didn’t know, Sony has released most of their Columbia Pictures on the NXE. The news comes after the company was being blamed for not letting their movies be allowed to play on a competitor’s console. Not to long after the accusations, Sony replied and said it had nothing to do with the Xbox, but because of licensing issues.
Apparently, Sony wasn’t lying because again if you log on Netflix with the NXE, you can now play Ghostbusters as many times as you want. Thank god!

One of the unsung heros of the Mortal Kombat franchise is the voice of god. Well, that’s what I always thought of him. Hernan Sanchez is the man with the legendary voice of the series who said such phrases as “Finish Him” and “Flawless Victory.” Thanks to Midway and Maxim, we now have a soundboard that features Sanchez’s famous voice but saying things you probably thought you would never hear from him.
Up top is the soundboard, enjoy it for what it is.

In my opinion, there is no question that EA’s Mirror’s Edge theme song, “Still Alive” could be one of the best original song in video game history. I know it’s not going to sound very ‘manish,’ but I have actually put the tune in my iPod…and listened to it several times.
The song, which is sung by Swedish pop-star Lisa Miskovsky, now has its own music video. The clip features the singer showing off her talent on a roof of a building and obviously it’s inspired by the game.
Check it out up top.

Most things that modded or hacked I find around the web are generally unnecessary. But on occasion, I find something that the hacker created is better than the original product. This is one of those rare times.
‘RDC‘ on the Xbox-Scene forum decided to take an old imac, rip out the disc drive and attach it to the Xbox 360. What he ended up making was a slot-loader for the Xbox 360 (like a PS3/Wii), instead of the old flimsy disc tray.
Up top is a video of it in action and as you can tell works great. After the jump, check out pictures of his work.

If you’re already bored with Xbox’s NXE because you played with every feature known — you might want to check this out. A reader over at Kotaku; sent the website an easter egg for the Avatar’s hair. If you follow the directions below, you’ll have the ability to give your Avatar’s wacky hair color.
Sadly, if you give your virtual lookalike purple hair, the eyebrows will unfortunately stay the ‘natural color’ look. Although, I least we get something ‘new.’ Hopefully down the line — readers/users will find other surprises that have yet to be unlocked. I just wish the NXE gave me the ability to change the colors of my outfit. I so would have gave the Xbox ‘on button’ shirt the red ring of death.
Directions for the easter egg:
* Go to the “Change My Features” section of the Avatar customizer.
* Highlight (don’t click) the “Hairstyles” tile in the “My Features” area.
* Patiently wait. After one minute the “Hairstyles” tile will spin.
* That’s it, hair colors unlocked! Choose your hairstyle and the new hair colors will be available.

Today must be ‘endless trailer day,’ because we have another one for you. Zen Studios has released the first video featuring the new Punisher game. We think the company is hoping to bank from the movie release. And hey, it looks about as good as the new film — which isn’t a good thing.

One of the more underrated movies of this year I felt was Wanted. When I was watching the comic book-turned movie, all I was thinking about was how much it felt like an awesome video game. Soon after the movie was released, we got word GRIN (Bionic Commando) was already in development and they planned on releasing the game in 2009.
The game will follow the movie and be a 3rd-person-shooter. Wanted: Weapons of Fate will still tell the story of the original character of the film Wesley Gibson and will be a direct sequel.
As you can tell from the trailer, the game will feature “curving bullets” which by our count, is a first in video games.
FYI - The trailer has the potential of being a NSFW video. Wesley drops the F-Bomb at the end of the clip.

Freddy Wong, you are my new hero…actually you are my new Bike Hero. I really don’t want to ruin the video, but he calls the viral marketing company Droga 5 “douchebags,” and we agree! He then takes it one step further and plays Dragonforce on expert — on his bike!!
