/Gamer was created in July 2008 as an alternative video game news and review blog. The blog was started as an expansion to /empire, which currently has two sister sites: slashfilm.com & slashgossip.com

Since the website opened, we have been invited to numerous gaming shows including but not limited to: E3, GDC, Comic-Con, Wondercon and various shows put on by video game publishers.
