I’ve mentioned several times on this site that the first Just Cause was an underrated game; that just needed some development time polish it. Luckily, the team behind the first one, Avalanche Studios, was greenlit to release the sequel and hopefully they have been given enough time to fix the issues that plagued the first game. Up top is a trailer, which features some of the members from Avalanche talking about Just Cause 2 and so far, it’s looking like they learned from some of their mistakes, BUT somethings haven’t changed.

The part that looks great is the exploration and also the over-the-top mechanics to defeat the enemy. However, the ground action of the main character looks rather clunky. The basic firefights looks generic and the animations are questionable. I hope the team wasn’t trying to make something so innovative with the grappling hook, that they forgot to perfect the basic parts of gameplay.
