Do you want the God of War III demo, but don’t want spend the $40 on the collection which comes out next month? Well, Sony has announced a cheaper way of getting your hands on the anticipated tease. The company has revealed that the Blu-ray version of the blockbuster film District 9, will also include the E3 demo of God of War III. According to them, the demo will be included on the actual disc of District 9 and gamers will not have to download it, which they are forced too if they bought the God of War Collection.

We are thrilled to give consumers not only an incredible high definition presentation of District 9 and the wealth of bonus material about the movie, but also a taste of what is destined to be the biggest video game of 2010,” said Peter Dille, senior vice president of marketing at SCEA. “This pairing of the movie and game demo is just another example of what is possible with the Blu-ray format.”

To be honest, this isn’t the first time a videogame demo was included on a disc with a film release. This actually happened as early as 2003, when “Hulk” was released on DVD, it featured a demo of the movie-based licensed game. However, it only worked if you put the DVD inside the original Xbox.

District 9 will be available in stores on December 29, 2009.
