Parody Game Featurette: Everything that is Wrong with Guitar Hero
Since Activision bought the Guitar Hero franchise, many people have argued that the publisher lacks the originality and creativeness that Harmonix puts into their games. Not only that, the company seems to be a bit lazy on bands who are in their GH titles, especially when they release a Guitar Hero starring a particular group. Like why on earth is Weezer in the new Van Halen Guitar Hero? It’s just beyond me and there is no excuse for the reckless choices that sound nothing like the original band.
Up top is a video that chaopolis on youtube made. It’s a parody of a game trailer, which the publisher would release to the Internet to get gamers excited about an upcoming game. It basically pokes fun of what is wrong with the Guitar Hero franchise and how they would screw up a Beatles Guitar Hero game. Check it out.

I don’t get why people are so butt hurt about Guitar Hero. It’s as simple as not buying the games. I used to be a big GH fan, but I’ve gotten tired of the rhythm/music genre in general. Rock Band is probably going to head in the same direction with overrated band titles, since The Beatles version is going to sell a crap load and MTV/EA will force Harmonix to capitalize on that opportunity.
Oh and I’m sure Neversoft incorporates other musical acts in a band name GH game to further diversify that game’s lineup. That and they use bands that have been inspired by the title band.

Mostly people are upset with what GH has become because we see how it could become a great game and how we wish it were.
We are also upset at how each release is just a money soaker instead of embracing technology with downloads.
So, the reason people are “so butt hurt” (which I would argue against also) is we knew the potential, we just don’t like how the GH took that potential and wish we could get them to change their ways.
