Nintendo: “No Plans” on Releasing the Black Wii in the U.S.

blackwii2

A few days ago, Nintendo revealed that they would be releasing a brand new slick black Wii in Japan. Nintendo is hoping the new color is going to persuade some customers who didn’t purchase the Wii because of its white color, which might not match some households electronics. When the Wii was first shown to the world in 2005, Nintendo did show off a black version back then, but by the time it was in stores we only had the white to choose from.

On August 1st, that’s all gonna change because Nintendo will finally deliver their promise of a black console. Most of us figured it would only be a matter of time when we here in the states would get an opportunity of owning this sweet looking Wii. Now we get word that Nintendo has “no plans” to ship a black Wii in America. Dammit.

Of course, if this ‘new’ system proves to be a hit in Japan, I highly doubt Nintendo wouldn’t want to bank on something as simple as a color change. So there is still hope Nintendo fanboys of the U.S..
