Here is an update on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 “Prestige Edition.” In case you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, click here and be impressed — but I’ll give a quick overview anyway.

Infinity Ward has decided to release several different versions of Modern Warfare 2, two of which will come with extra swag. The the package that everyone is talking about is the Prestige Edition. That particular one comes with a real working night vision goggle and a even hard case to hold the game, which also comes with an art book and a code that allows you to download the original COD on PSN or XBLA for free. Like we thought, the price for all that isn’t going to be cheap, and will set back gamers about $150. I guess that’s the price to pay to look at naked people in the dark.

If that sounds like it costs to much, but you like the idea of owning the original Call of Duty, than you can buy the same hard case which comes with the Prestige Edition. Those ones will be quite a bit cheaper, and have a MSRP price tag of $80.

Still could careless about owning a super-fantastic edition, then obviously there is going to be a standard version for $60, which only comes with the game and maybe an instruction booklet? Seriously, how boring can you be? I should break into your house during the night and steal your console, all this while I wear my COD night vision goggles — naked. I’m sorry, but you don’t deserve a super-powerful next-generation system!
