Nintendo to Transform Times Square into a “Tropical Lounge”

beachtimes

Nintendo will be creating a faux tropical paradise in the middle of New York’s Times Square, to help promote their game Wii Sports Resorts. The “tropical lounge” will include a sandy beach, swimming pool and even a bar which will serve non-alcoholic drinks. The “mini-vacation” is open to the public and will not only serve boring drinks, but gamers who attended will get the chance to play Wii Sports Resorts three days early.

The transformation is going to be in the middle of Military Island (Between 43rd and 44th streets) and will happen onĀ  Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. If you want to check it out, just head down there — no tickets required.
