What is probably one of the best surprises at this past E3 was Epic’s Shadow Complex. The game combined an old-school side-scroller with next generation graphics, which takes advantage of the Unreal engine. When I first played it, I thought it felt a little bit like Uncharted meets Contra meets Metroid and trust me, that’s a good thing. Back then, we were told the game would be coming out sometime this summer, now we officially get a specific date.

Microsoft has announced that Shadow Complex will be making its was onto Xbox Live Arcade on August 19th and will priced at 1200 Microsoft Points. If you own a Xbox 360 and have it hooked up online, make sure you don’t miss out on this one — it really is that fun. Actually, it might have just been one of my favorite titles at this year’s E3. If you’re still not sold, when the game is released it should have a trial run for free — just like every other game available on XBLA. That should be enough for you wanting this game.
