Co-op Announced for Madden 10
EA has thrown in a little bit of a twist for their newest incarnation of their beloved Madden franchise. Madden 10 will feature a new mode online, where you can play with a friend on the same exact team.
If you have a buddy who is considerably better than yourself at the game, and get consistently slaughtered by him in each time you play, now you won’t. EA has introduced for the first time ever, online co-op; where you and someone else can play on the same team against the computer.
This isn’t the first time two people can play together, in fact you could do it in the previous Maddens. However, this will be the first time players can play with each other online.
Generally, when gamers played football games in a co-op mode, it didn’t turn out so fun. My biggest issue was because the camera would only follow the person who had the ball. So, if you were a wide-receiver, your player would constantly be out of view. With online play, that won’t be a problem because people will be playing on separate TVs, so the camera can just solely focus on you — even if you don’t have the ball.
Will co-op now be bearable in Madden now? I’m not sure, I’m excited to find out.
Also, the developers are promising another announcement at E3 regarding Madden. I’m actually hoping for 2 on 2 online versus mode. We’ll know soon enough.
Check out the co-op in action with the video above.

I’m really excited about this online co-op feature in Madden 10. This is long overdue, imo.
