Heavy Rain Director: “This Game Can Only be Done on Playstation 3″

The one game I’m trying to keep an eye out for at E3 is Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 3. Not much information has been released and honestly, I’m not sure how if it will end up being good, or what. However, Quantic Dream (Indigo Prophecy) is a extremely talented developer and from what we are hearing, Heavy Rain is going to take some huge and innovative risks. Which I think the industry needs in order to continue to grow.

With that said, David Cage who is the director of Heavy Rain spoke about his big Project with nowgamer and he believes the title could not be achieved on the Xbox 360.

“I think this game can only be done on Playstation 3, we used all the SPUs. I think to do the visuals, and all the stuff we’re doing would be too difficult [on the 360]. There are amazing physics there, and stuff with crowds that you just couldn’t really get [with the 360]“

Interesting stuff and this should get all the fanboys for each system all riled up.

Heavy Rain should hopefully be shipped to the PlayStation 3 later this year, although I’m not holding my breath for that to actually happen.

  1. I was a big fan of what Quantic Dream did with Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, and Omikron wasn’t bad either back in the days. I’ve been looking forward to Heavy Rain ever since I first saw that casting video. And then they announced it would be a PS3 exclusive.

Utterly ridiculous and a stab in the back. The game might be too complex for the Xbox, I dunno, but certainly not for the PC, so I call bollocks on their claims that the PS3 is the “only” way. It’s most likely just a money thing.

  2. I totally agree. My PC could handle that without any problems.

  3. haha 2 fanboyz dat are pissed dey don have a ps3 fagets
