When we all heard the sad news that 3D Realms has shut down their doors for good, I had a feeling that we would finally see footage of Duke Nukem Forever, sooner rather than later. Well I was right because someone, most likely from the ex-studio, has leaked gameplay footage, as well as some early development stages of the game. Basically, after 12 years, we have our first ever Duke Nukem Forever video blowout. Hey — it’s better than nothing, right?

If this video was somehow released last week, everyone would have been abuzz. Now, since the closure of the company, which was founded in 1987, it is a somber moment.

Oddly enough, the game looked liked it was shaping up to be a decent title and if anything, feature mindless entertainment. Which wasn’t that the point of the original games?

Anyway, check out the video up top and ponder at what could have been. We should also warn you that their is a brief shot of a naked chick, so it’s NSFW.

On a side note, the game looked like it was somewhat far along in the development process. If that is the case, we have a better chance of maybe seeing another company picking up the rights. And if we are lucky, maybe one day they will actually release it.
