Star Trek Uniforms Coming to PS3’s Home
Is anyone questioning how massive J.J. Abram’s interpretation of Star Trek is going to be? Like seriously, I’ve talked about the film to the manliest men and the geekiest geeks, and most all agreed that they can’t wait to see the film. The flick is unlike any Star Trek movie released, it transcends itself above a nerd film and appeals to pretty much everyone. In the end, this just means we’re going to see a ton of marketing.
Today, we get word that Paramount Pictures and Sony have teamed up to bring us a new line of clothing for PlayStation 3’s Home service. As you can already tell from the picture above, players will be able to dress up their avatar in a Starfleet uniform. I’m sure the few people who actually still play Home and love Star Trek at the same time, can’t wait. If you are one of those crazies, you’ll be able to obtain them starting on April 23.
Oddly enough, I would never be caught wearing one of these in real life, even at my favorite comic book convention. But I kinda dig these, and think their the best avatar clothing that has come out for the online community, thus far. Sony or Paramount have yet to comment if the uniforms are just as realistic as their ‘real life’ counterparts and include a virtual smell to them. Yes to realism!
