Why The Conduit Could be Average at Best, New Trailer Included
In order for a first-person shooter to be considered great on the Wii by hardcore gamers, it needs to be something really special. Lets face it, when it comes to FPSs the most important aspect is obviously gameplay, but a close second would have to be the technical side of things. Not combining both could really effect one or the other. Think about this, when you play a FPS your looking through the eyes of the character, so immersion is so essential for that genre. Look at the great first-person shooters for this generation: Call of Duty, Resistance, Halo, Crysis and BioShock. Besides gameplay, these titles have another thing in common — great graphics.
The biggest first-person for the Wii has to be the upcoming game The Conduit, by High Voltage. It’s also no coincidence that The Conduit’s visuals are probably one of the best for the system. If you don’t believe me, checkout the trailer up top. For Wii owners who have never really played a title like Crysis or Call of Duty, I’m sure their going to love the The Conduit. But sadly, I just have a hard time accepting that hardcore gamers, who own another next-gen system and have played other FPSs on them, will find this game better than average. I’m not criticizing High Voltage, I think what they have done so far with the limitations of the Wii is incredible. I’m just not sure if that’s good enough. This also isn’t me bashing the Wii, I do love it, it’s simply how I feel about certain games. Of course the hardcore Nintendo fanboys are rabid, like no other out there.
Up top is a new trailer for the game’s multiplayer.
