EA Ships Illegal Weapons to Journalists

In most US States, brass knuckles are illegal to own. In fact, if you are caught with one, it’s considered a first-degree misdemeanor, in many states. If you didn’t know that, don’t worry, neither did EA. A bunch of American journalists received the weapon from the publisher, in hopes it would be a good way to promote their latest Godfather game.

Oddly enough, when GamePolitics contacted EA and informed them that owning a brass knuckle could land him in court, EA asked the to ship it back. The website then proceeded to ask a PR spokesperson from the company if other sites were asked to return the knuckles. The PR’s response was “I can’t discuss this any further.”

Thankfully other websites like Kotaku, are reporting that EA wants their Brass Knuckles “properly disposed of.” Once again, the world is safe from video game bloggers… For now.
