Nintendo: 7 DS Titles Have Sold 10 Million Units Each
“This kid is a pimp with the ladies!“
If you are wondering how much money the DS made for Nintendo, you might want to continue reading. According to the Japanese company, the DS has over 7 games that sold more than 10 million units. These games are: New Super Mario Bros. Brain Age, Mario Kart DS, Brain Age 2, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing: Wild World and Pokemon.
Now get this, 83 titles for the handheld has sold over a million units, at least. If we just add the 10 million sellers, and gave each game the average price of $30 — that would equal to about $2,100,000,000 (added zeros for effect). If we do the same calculations for the 76 titles that sold 1 million copies each (minus the 7, 10 million games), that would be about $2,280,000,000. That is almost $5 billion total. Yes, the machine really does print money! Of course, this is all an approximation of how much money Nintendo has made off of these titles.
It also should be noted, Nintendo announced that they have already shipped over 100 million DSs worldwide. Not bad Nintendo. Not bad at all!
