Old Tech Video Shows The Power of the Gamecube

An old Gamecube tech demo has found its way online. The clip is showing early footage of what Nintendo thought the console potentially could do one day. The video is apparently showing off Princess Peach’s castle, but this time in glorious 128-bit raw power. Not only that, but it demonstrates what the cube can do on the screen at once, including: texture and the ever important lighting effects.

I always find it fun to watch things like this because it really shows how far the consoles of today have come along in terms of graphics — even though this was only last generation. Well, at least the Xbox 360 and PS3 have obviously improved, the Wii — not so much!

All right, even the Wii looks better… :)
