Brand New Trailer for Dante’s Inferno
Since EA announced their plans to make a video game adoption of Dante’s Inferno, we wondered how EA was planning to pull this one off. Sure, the epic poem is considered to be one of the writings of all time, but could that translate well into the video game world? And what type of gameplay did EA plan on delivering? We thought it could have gone in any direction.
Information was scarce, all EA released since that time was a short teaser trailer at Spike’s VGAs and it showed well…really nothing. About a week ago, PSM was reporting that they had seen the game and it felt like a combination of God of War and Dead Space, all wrapped into one. It had a series of quick time events, just like GoW and the scare factor of Dead Space.
But now, EA has now released a new trailer for the Divine Comedy thanks to EU. While the whole trailer is noting but CG, it does give us a little more detail into the gameplay. It definitely resembles God of War more than Dead Space, mostly because its hard to get an idea of the atmosphere and what that will feel like, something that Dead Space did very well.
But watching the trailer, we think God of War — and that’s not a bad thing. From what looks like large epic boss battles to the music, there isn’t a question in our mind that Kratos heavily influenced EA.
However, it wouldn’t be fair to just compare this game to another. The one major thing we notice that differentiate itself from GoW or even Devil May Cry is the art direction. From the look of the environment to the creepy gigantic monsters, this games visual expression is original, which in turn makes me want to try it. Please EA, I plea with you — don’t screw this one up! I actually have faith in it.
Now, if we can only see gameplay.
