Rumor: DSi Available in the USA on April 4, 2009
According to IGN’s “multiple sources,” Nintendo plans on releasing their upgraded handheld the DSi Stateside soon. The sources, who are nameless — say the DSi is coming out in April; most likely on the 4th. The same insiders are reporting that the device will for $179.99 when it launches; which is about $60 more than the current DS light. IGN contacted Nintendo who responded with the “we don’t comment on rumors and speculation,” routine.
The DSi features a built-in camera, internal flash memory, SD Slot and can connect to the DSiWare. Since it debuted in Japan for 18,900 yen ($210) in November, the unit sold over a million and still going strong.
If the April date is true, we’re only mere months away from the third different model of the DS.
