Video: Japanese Show Recreates Mario Game with Real People

No question, Japanese television is strange compared to American entertainment. There are many times I see some show from the Land of the Rising Son and I just don’t get why they do what they do. I liked to think it was because I don’t understand the language, but honestly — I don’t believe that is the case. I’ve seen many shows from all around the world and even though I don’t know what they are talking about, I can figure out why they’re doing a particular segment.

I know for a fact that I’m not the the only one who thinks this. Even with our non-understanding, I think most of us still find it incredibly entertaining! The video up top is no exception. A TV show decided to recreate Super Mario Bros., but use real life people to reenact it. The clip reminds me a lot like this famous high school talent show video; they did something similar. This one however — does not make much sense; yes probably because it is from Japan.

For instance, why the hell is Mario running through the city and then Obama randomly walks by? Yes, that actually does happen.

  1. I didn’t know Christ ever went to Japan.

  2. The mushroom makes me LOL.

Haha. It might be because Obama is the name of a city in Japan as well as a surname. :D
