More Famous 80’s Cars for Burnout Paradise

With the great response that Criterion received for releasing the “Delorean” in Burnout Paradise as downloadable content — they look to keep the 80’s theme alive. The developers have decided to create three more famous vehicles from the same decade.

First one (top) could be my favorite; the studio is calling it the Manhattan Spirit. Obviously one look at the photo, most will noticed the car is theĀ  Ecto-1 from the film Ghostbusters. Just like the Delorean released last month, if you press the L3 button; it’ll recreate the cars famous trademark. Although, Criterion didn’t reveal what the car would do, we are guessing the sirens will go off.

The second car is called the Carson Nighthawk. Criterion describes the automobiles as being “Denied by the government and disowned by Carson, this ultra rare version of the Carson GT is the ultimate super pursuit vehicle!” Now take a guess what Car this is…yup, it is F’N Knight Rider!

The last car is named the Cavalry Bootlegger. Looking at the picture, it was a little harder for me to figure out, but as soon as I read it comes in orange; it occurred to me. They created the Dukes of Hazzard’s famously modified 1969 Dodge Charger. However, the car doesn’t have the Confederate flag embedded on it, but instead the Mexican flag. Also, if you press the L3 button while in the air, you’ll hear the “the incredible horn.”

I love what Criterion is doing with their fantastic racer and I’m not one to generally purchase DLC, but I might make an exception. No word yet when they plan on releasing these cars.
