Gamestop to Stop Accepting the Trade-Ins for the Original Xbox
We all know the original Xbox has been dying a quick death. We also understand that a game has not come out for the system for a few years now. But that did not stop GameStop selling and accepting trade-ins for the 7 year old system. But the retail company is about to put the final nail in the coffin.
Destructoid chatted away with some managers who work for the company and according to them, GameStop will no longer accepting trade-ins on hardware, games or accessories — starting February 9, 2009. The company had been selling the late-console, hoping to attract lower income families and people just starting to enter the video game world (yes newbies). However, we figure with the declining economy and this generation of systems becoming cheaper — the company has decided to get completely rid of its remaining inventory of the original Xbox. They also can free up a lot of space — which is important in retail.
It was a good system, but its time has defiantly come.
R.I.P. You were a kind friend and more reliable than your brother — the 360.

Should be “accepting” trade-ins, not excepting.
