Sacramento: 5 Gamestop’s Robbed at Gunpoint in 10 Days
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a series of robberies at local Gamestops in and around the city. Over the span of last 10 days, there have been a total of 5 gunpoint robberies and police believe they are related. In each case, at least two men walked into a Gamestop with a shotgun demanding money from both the store and customers. The report describes the men as African American and/or Latino between the ages of 18 to early 20s. They have a height between 5′9 to 6′4 and weigh about 200 pounds.
Sacramento Police is encouraging anyone with any information regarding the crimes to call the sheriff’s department at (916) 874-5115. Also anonymous calls are eligible for a $1,000 for information on their whereabouts.
What’s disturbing about these crimes against the gaming retail giant over the last few years, is the fact that many of the stores still do not have security cameras needed to help catch the criminals like the ones above. As the company continues to grow and the same with the industry, this is something Gamestop should probably look into. Thankfully, we know at least one of the stores that was hit, did have a camera — as you can see with the pic above.
