In case you haven’t heard, Komani released a teaser on their website about a new Metal Gear Solid game. The only thing on the site was a exclamation point, the letter ‘i’ and an on button with the letter ‘i’ in the middle. However, many people thought because the colors of the symbols were green, they theorized the series was heading to the Xbox 360.
Some other people (including us) thought it very well could be an iPhone game because of all the ‘i’s’. Well, it looks like Solid Snake is sneaking to Apple’s phone. Allegedly the site wiieveryday, uncovered a Japanese publication announcing the next installment of Metal Gear will be released on the iPhone and iTouch. The scans seem to indicate the game will take advantage of the touch feature, although at this point we’re not sure if the accelerometer will be, but we assume so.

If these scans hold true and Apple is getting Metal Gear — call that a HUGE victory for the company. We truly believe that Metal Gear would be the very first time the device will sell systems because of a game. We think highly of the phone, but at this point their has yet to be a ’system seller’ for people really interested as a gaming handheld. This could appositely do that and be the first major attack apple has made to the gaming industry.
