Radiohead Songs Remade in ‘NES Sound’

No Surprises

No question, Radiohead is my favorite band ever. I have so much crap from them, from t-shirts to b-sides. I’ve gone to a few concerts and just saw them recently in San Francisco this past summer. So when I read that someone remade some of their songs in ‘8-bit‘ sound, I had no choice but to post them.

Mnrmner is a user on youtube and was the one who recreated some of Radiohead classics. It seriously does sound like songs that easily could have been in a game soundtrack from the 80s. In fact, some of it is so well done that I realized I was bopping my head to the music while listening to it.

After the jump, check out the rest of the songs.

  1. They’re also known as chiptunes.

  2. Damn, even in 8 bits it sounds wonderful, just brilliant music

  3. In 8 bit ‘recordings’ like these the distinction between instruments is very audible. I’m saying it’s easy to pay attention to every instrument (without the requirement of expensive speakers). Therefore, the complexity of these pieces of music is now more apparent.

Very nicely done. How have these songs been ‘converted’ (if at all) to 8 bit sounds?

  4. They have been completely rewritten, note by note, just like the real deal :)

  5. OMFG I have a new ringtone!

  6. Thank you for finding this! Long time radiohead fan here! You should also check out the bluegrass tribute and string quartet tributes.
