Face it, Mortal Kombat is only around because of a few reasons. First the blood and second, ‘the Fatality‘. If those two things didn’t exist in the series, we would have forgotten about Liu Kang and Sub-Zero along time ago. There I said it — even though I’m a sucker for the franchise, I understand why it belongs in video game lore and it’s not because of the gameplay.

So naturally when Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was announced awhile back, we all wondered — how will the Fatalities be? Over time we received our answer and for the most part — like many of you, I personalty wasn’t a fan.

While not every single one is the worst thing since moldy sliced bread, just a lot of them…suck. And what’s even more terrible is that we’ve seen some of them before in the previous installments of MK. And don’t get me started with the cop-out ‘Heroic Brutalities.’
