Sim City Coming to the iPhone

Let’s be honest, games in the 90s were not nearly on the same level as they are today. They were…much simpler back than; however that doesn’t take away the greatness of some of them. But to find a complex game then, is like trying to find a simple game today on the PS3.

Growing up, I always had this fascination with Maxis’ Sim City. The original ‘god-game’ could have been my first experience playing a complicated game. And boy did I love it. It was definitely the first time I had played something that felt like a real breathing world — and I had complete control of it. There was something about building a world class city and then in an instant; I destroyed it with a tornado. Looking back at it today, I must have had some god issues.

Flash forward more than 15 years and I still go back to play it to this day. Now get word that EA plans on bringing Sim City (resembles SC 3000) to the iPhone. Remember, the phone has a touch screen, which should make the game feel like it always belonged on the device.

I know the DS has had a few versions of the city builder game, but there is something about bringing just my phone around and not having to switch a cartridge. I also would much rather use my finger than to hold a styles.

The game is coming out this December and will sell $10. Thanks EA, I’m never going to have any battery life to talk on my phone anymore.
