The cult anime/manga Afro Samurai is set to have its own video game. When we first heard about the series was going to have a game adaption, we somewhat wrote if off. Let’s face it, generally when companies sell of the rights of their own I.P.’s they look to make a quick buck. So we figured the action title was a wash.

Then during Comic-Con 2008, we had opportunity to check it out. To our surprise we thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though the game didn’t necessarily felt incredibly deep, the controls worked and the option to slow down time to see you chop off a body party was defiantly fun.

Check out the ‘Beatbox’ trailer above, complete with the voice of Samuel L. Jackson– we recommend keeping an eye for this one. Especially if you like the anime.
