Many people who think of the creators of LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule is some how owned by Sony. But the fact is the company is an independent game studio made up by a bunch of people from Lionhead (Fable). So since SackBoy’s game was released last month, the company was allowed to developed for any system, including the Wii and/or Xbox 360.

Although, according to psbeyond, Sony has possibly snagged the rights for three more titles made by Media Molecule to be sold exclusively for the PlayStation 3. If ends up being true, obviously Sony saw huge amounts of potential with the company after their last successful game LBP. Although, it is a little strange that Sony didn’t outright by MM, generally Sony would purchase a team after they worked so closely together. However, we think maybe it was Media Molecule who decided not to be affiliated with Sony and not the other way around.
