Entertainment Weekly compiled a list for the Top ‘25 Entertainers of the Year.’ And this is when you know video games have made it in the world. According to the magazine publication, the seventh most entertaining thing that came out this year was…Rock Band 2.

The mag praised the Harmonix game for its revolutionary idea:

“The Velvet Underground’s 1967 debut has long been known as the album that launched a thousand bands. Forty years later, that honor goes to Rock Band, which has prompted untold millions to pick up a (plastic) instrument.”

The rhythm game beat out other ‘entertainers,’ like Wall*E, The Jonas Brothers and swimmer Michael Phelps. However, Rock Band 2 lost to Tina Fey and the ‘cast and crew of the Dark Knight.’

Robert Downey Jr. took the top honors and we think deservingly so.
