GDC Registration Begins — Press Attends by Invite Only

The Gamers Developers Conference registration is officially open. The conference is designed to help young inspiring people who are interested to work in the industry and guide them on how and where they should go. However, because of the downsizing of E3, the media from online and print started to cover the GDC and news even started to be announced during the keynotes. Just last year, Microsoft had a large briefing and confirmed for the first time Gears of War 2 was coming out.

However, rumors started to emerged that the media would only be attending if they were invited by gaming companies. Today the website has confirmed it being true. Which means in the end — most companies will probably not announce the big budget titles like Gears or LittleBigPlanet. But at the same time, with E3 making the comeback — do they really need too?

GDC 2009 will take place on March 23-27 in San Francisco, CA. If you would like to attend the conference click here. It is open to the public, but expect to pay well over a $1000.
