First Screenshot and Info for the Dexter Video Game for the iPhone
Back at Comic-Con during the Dexter Panel, Marc Ecko came out at the end of theĀ Q & A session and announced his production company is developing a game based on the showtime hit series. He released some small tidbits regarding the game and features.
He confirmed the game would be exclusive to the iphone, be episodic, and take advantage of the accelerometer — he then showed his iPhone, held it like a knife and proceeded to gesture stabbing motions in the air. As he was simulating cutting someone with his phone, he discussed how that could be one of the many examples for the player to kill his victims.
Today, we have received word that Icarus Studios is officially developing the game and plans on making it a investigation/detective type of game. The player will live in the shoes of the infamous Dexter Morgan, a blood splatter analyst who works for the Miami-Dade Police during the day — serial killer at night. The structure of the gameplay will have the player investigate crime scenes, undercover evidence, then when he/she figures out who committed the crime, find the criminal and determine his/her’s fate.
Up top is the first screenshot of the game running on the iPhone. From what it looks like to us, we think it will control similar to a point and click adventure. Something like Myst, but instead you’re a serial killer…who works for the police.
No word yet on a release date.
