Tekken 6 is Coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3
Huge news regrading the Xbox 360 (although not surprising) is Namco-Bandi confirming Sony’s ultra exclusive Tekken series is finally coming to the Xbox 360, with its sixth installment. This sent shock-waves throughout Japan as well as Sony fanboys everywhere. Japanese gamers as well as Sony consumers are used to playing Tekken on a Sony console. That of course all changed today when Tekken 6 was announced on the Xbox 360.
Don’t worry PS3 owners, you’ll be getting the same game when it debuts next year. Even though this is the first time we’ll be seeing the fighter on something other than a Sony system, it isn’t really a surprise for us here at /gamer. The latest trend in the gaming industry as of late — is to see games we’re all used to seeing on a PlayStation being ported over to an Xbox 360.
It makes perfect sense too. When a company is making a game, the goal isn’t to appease a fanboy, but to make money. These days if Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft chooses not to offer a publisher a crap load of cash, than almost every game to come out will in fact be multiplatform. We believe the era of exclusive games is coming to an end. And it’s happening very quickly…
