Call of Duty: World at War Collector’s Edition Announced

Here we go again, another game with another collector’s edition. Activision has announced the World War II game Call of Duty: World at War will try to entice customers to spend an extra $20 and buy its collector’s edition. Of course you’ll have to be interested in the products that come with it and after we tell you what they are, we’re pretty sure you will stick with the original version for 60 bucks.

The CE comes packed with the game (obviously), a metal box, a canteen you can piss in, double-XP points for a week and receive a ‘high-level’ weapon ‘early.’

The only thing that almost got me to possibly think about purchasing the more expensive pack is ‘double the XP’ points. But when I started to think about it, my blood started to boil. You’re telling me that if I spend just a little more, Activision will give me the ability to ‘cheat’ online? I know double-XP points doesn’t necessarily mean that they literally can ‘kill’ me kill me easier right away. But over time, they’ll level up faster and be able to get more/better weapons, they’ll then be able to frag me that much faster. Screw that…

Just out of principle, I’ll be sticking with the regular game.

While the Xbox 360 and PS3 CE versions will sell for $80, the PC game will be $10 cheaper and sell for $70.

  1. this stuff is getting really ridiculous, bonus xp and weapon unlock for $80? this is insane, almost as insane as including a map pack for pre-ordering quantum of solace. The question is are we to revolt against activision or treyarc?

I’ll up your principle and suggest you abstain from playing or purchasing either game period.
