One of the best fighters is about to come to the PS3 and Arcade. Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion has received an update and the trailer has made its way online. According to the video above, the game is going to feature new items, stages, and introducing two characters to the series.

After viewing the video, the game looks to pack the same classic Tekken fighting system from the past. But one thing that does concern us are the new items. At one point they show Xiaoyu pulls some kind of rod and then it proceeds to fire pink crap and she’s not the only one using ‘items.’

This is a glaring departure from the series, one of the unique characteristic of the franchise was strictly hand to hand combat. Back in the mid 90’s — ‘fighters’ in the video game world had almost every character using some sort of ‘magic,’ where they shot fireballs and other projectiles. Like Virtua Fighter, Tekken separated itself by using over-the-top fighting, but without the ‘magical powers.’ Hopefully these items don’t ruin the greatness that Tekken has invented for its genre.

Oh and one other thing, do you think Namco will ever change the sound of the fighters hitting each other?
