More Rumors That E3 Is Coming Back To The Way It Was

According to Kotaku, they’ve received information the ESA is reviewing a discussion to bring E3 back to its former glory. After seeing GC in Germany making a huge splash last month and PAX having 60,000 people attending, E3 is starting to become an after thought. And if the ESA wants to continue E3, they might not have a choice but to bring it back to the way it was.

If you’re wondering if it’s to late for E3, think again. The ESA is still a powerful force to be reckon with, and a much more powerful entity in the industry than PennyArcade. If the ESA believes in E3 and still plans on it being an annual event, they need to open the doors.

  1. Why did they close E3 to the public, anyways?

  2. I think E3 should maintain its media only access that it has and leave the public access to PAX.

Reason being is that with E3 it gives the media a chance to evaluate the games and conduct interviews without having to deal with the tens of thousands of gamer fans around them. Thus leaving PAX (which has doubled attendance every year since its premiere 5 years ago) as the biggest public show for the gaming industry in the states.

I believe with this we will just get better quality material from the media at E3 and better quality from the developers at PAX. Having two different massive public venues, on the same coast non the less, seems excessive to me and might jeopardize on the quality given to the public.
