Resident Evil 5 to Change Control, Will Now Feel More Like Gears of War
Resident Evil 5 was hands down one of the best games at this year’s E3. But the game wasn’t free from some complaints. The biggest issue that most people agreed upon including myself, was the control felt and looked to similar to the previous game for the Gamecube and PS2. Apparently, Capcom heard about negative feedback and decided to do something about it. According to Kotaku, the producer of the game, Hun Takeuchi briefly hinted about a new control scheme at the Microsoft press conference in Japan:
“So don’t be surprised if at the Tokyo Game Show, the controls are different… I’m not confirming or denying anything, but we like to surprise people.”
After the conference Kotaku was able to get a little more detail about what he meant when he said ‘different’ controls, and he referred to it being similar to Gears of War. What does he mean by that? Well, we’re not too sure, but we pray that we could see some kind of cover system implemented. That could defiantly make a game like Resident Evil much more intense. We’ll just have to wait until TGS, which starts October 9-12.
