Will Wright Gives More Hints at the Idea of Spore Coming to the Next-Gen Consoles
While having a discussion with the Associated Press, Will Wright hinted at the possibility of seeing his god-game, Spore being made for the next-generation consoles. Although, if it does happen it won’t be an exact port of the PC version, much like what happened to the Sims series when it was brought over to the PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox a few years back.
“‘Spore’ on almost any platform is going to be different and tied to the unique aspects of that platform.”…”Sitting in front of a console is very different from sitting in front of a PC. Whether you’re using a mouse or a PS3 controller or a Wii wand, that right off the bat is arguing for a somewhat different design.”
Obviously Spore is going to be a huge money maker for both EA and Maxis, and it only would help both companies financially if they were to find a way to bring it over to the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. We’re sure it’s going to happen eventually, but the question is when… Source: CNN
