Not only that, these permutations were optional, and to suppose Bungie used an existing template because they gave people the option to make their character look how they want is just ignorant. So no, its not hard to argue that Bungie wasn't in some way influenced by Metroid. But maybe they were. Whatever the case, YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE!! YOUR CASE IS FUTILE!!
