EA and Maxis has confirmed that Spore is officially gone gold. Will Wright’s most ambitious game yet, is about to to hit stores on September 5 here in the States and Asia, and September 7 for those European people. It seems like it’s been forever when Will Wright and friends first announced the game way back in 2004, in Wired magazine. So saying it’s along time coming would be a understatement.

Spore will have a regular edition for $49.99 and a special edition called Spore: Galactic Edition for 79.99. It will include, in addition to the game, a DVD laying out the making of the game, a second DVD called “How to Build a Better Being” produced by National Geographic Channel, and a hardback mini-book named “The Art of Spore.”

So finally in just a few weeks, we’ll be able to make our Penis Monsters roam their own planet.
