According to the World of Parents: GTA is Worse Than Drinking Beer and Watching Porn

The consumer information site called, whattheyplay.com, asked a series of questions regarding what parents fear most about the activities of their children. The online poll that ran August 1-6th asked “what they’d be most concerned about their 17-year-old child indulging in while in a sleepover”. Here are the results.

49% smoking marijuana
19% playing Grand Theft Auto
16% watching porn
14% drinking beer

Boys and girls, the media has won (for now). Video games are worse than drinking beer and watching porn. My god, the highlight for me is when the question mentions a “17-year-old“. You know, the same 17-year-old kid that is-according to the ESRB, allowed to buy the game legally in the store! How in the world would any sane parent, want their kid to drink alcohol as opposed to playing a video game? Last time I checked, a 17-year-old can drive, and if they drink, awful things have the potential of happening with that combination. Parents need to stop living in this fearful world and address the real issues.

And here’s more proof they don’t address them:

In a similar poll conducted in April, asked what parents were offended most in video games. 37% said, a man and woman having sex (yeah, because they didn’t do that to have their precious kid). 27% said, two men kissing, 25% graphically severed head, and 9% saying the fuck. Out of the four answers given, which is honestly the worse thing that one person could do to another ? And why is it number three!?

  1. Just ignore these people. They’ll either understand of die out.

  2. A man and a woman having sex? But that’s so unnatural!

  3. Take that, logic!
