Video of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the iPhone
The iPhone certainly has the power to reproduce great looking games visually. And with the seemingly unlimited control with the touch screen and accelerometer, it’s only a matter of time when we start to see great games. LucasArt’s first game for the iPhone looks to have the potential to-be just that.
They’ve taken Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and made what looks to be, one of the better games to be available for the phone sometime in the future. Instead of having a generic 3D action game, where the controls could feel awkward. They took a different approach, they use a control system similar to “quick-time” events. An example of this would be Dragon’s Lair or God of War. Where the player pushes a button corresponding to what’s on the screen. But Star Wars goes a little deeper, you don’t just push a button, you draw lines by using the touchscreen. And instead of being forced to draw one line like most other “quick-time” event games, you have the option of which line you want to draw. Maybe you want to deflect a laser with a Lightsaber draw a straight line. Or maybe you just want to use the Force, then draw a different looking line. The choice is up to you.
The Force Unleashed is really living up to the hype, but not just for the consoles-but all the way down to the mobile phones. Check out the Video
